Liliana García Ramírez

Liliana García has been an environmental lawyer for more than 20 years. For 6 years she has been working with
Friends of Sian Ka’an, a civil association dedicated to the conservation of the environment and
sustainable development. In her work as Director of Programs she has led a team of
professionals in promoting the Maya Ka’an tourist destination, from the education program
environmental "You are water, become aware", manuals of good practices for the use and
conservation of cenotes, planning, design and sustainable construction in the caribbean
Mexican MARTI Guide, aimed at real estate developers and investors, as well as
high-impact projects with a basin-to-reef approach, integrated management of the
water and wastewater, using innovative solutions in the SAM. The incidence in
public policies such as the General Water Law and the update of NOM-001-SEMARNAT-

Liliana was Deputy Director of Legal Support for Environmental Management in the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources. She conducted legislative research and analysis to design legal frameworks in the implementation of sustainable projects in collaboration with the Commission for Environmental Cooperation.
