Lucía Ruiz Bustos
Biodiversity and Financing Coordinator, WWF Mexico
Lucía is a specialist in biodiversity financing, advocacy and strategic planning. With more than 12 years of experience, she has achieved a deep understanding of the socio-environmental challenges of the country and developed extensive experience in the design of financial mechanisms for the protection of biodiversity. His professional career includes local, national and international spheres that range from field work in the Lacandon Jungle to collaboration in the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations and positions in the federal environmental sector, as well as civil society organizations, agencies of international cooperation and various government institutions. She is a biologist from UNAM and a Master in Environmental Management from Yale University. She currently works as Coordinator of Biodiversity and Financing at WWF Mexico, where she leads the agenda of strategic projects, innovative financial mechanisms, and policy and advocacy on biodiversity. Her goal is to team up to conserve nature, on which our present and future depend.
